IMHO, well overdue. If you don't pay then why should you benefit as though you do play? if you are going to be offline a while then either pay and set a long skill, or just accept that you aren't playing and look forward to when you can again.

Oh ffs! All this bleating that some of you have been caught out doing what anywhere else would be termed taking advantage (or even cheating!)
[i]"The ghost training is one of the points why many players play this game"{/i]
Er .. news for you. If someone is 'ghost training' then THEY AREN'T PLAYING THE GAME! Self evident!
All this arguing about people saying they'll take their accounts away? Good! They aren't actually playing with the accounts so nobody will miss them, right? Speaking as someone who has *always* seen this as an inherent unfairness in the Eve system - that people could get something for nothing - I'm very pleased it is ending.

News for Snarker. SUBSCRIBERS PAY.
People running 'ghost accounts' do not. They shouldn't benefit therefore!

People running 'ghost accounts' do indeed pay. Just not 100% of the time. If someone is paying for only 3 months out of every 6, they're still paying. Ghost Training isn't free, merely cheaper.
So you pay for 3 months and you get 3 months training (and playing time). makes sense. You don't pay for 3 months and you get nothing in return. seems reasonable/(TANSTAAFL)
So, overall, what is wrong with that?

Try to connect with the non-insane portion of the crowd and see how taking away this small small advantage for no good reason takes away a tremendous portion of good feeling and goodwill.
If it was such a "small small" advantage then how come 11 pages of mostly bleating? It isn't! It is a massive disadvantage to *players* (ie those who actually pay their subscriptions) to let other people get such a benefit without paying for it. It devalues their subscription.
You don't get education for free on Earth so why should you expect to get it for free in Eve?

I'd say that's a good thing too, considering how you look even after having to pay for all of your lunches.
rofl. But at least I pay for mine and don't expect anyone to feed me for free. Most of the bleaters here seem to think they deserve something for nothing.

YES IT IS!
In the past you have trained for periods of time when you didn't pay! (Everyone trains when they do pay)

Interesting point of view, so let's take a real-world example. I take a long train journey of 500 miles. I buy a ticket which would cover me for a journey to the town about 50 miles from the start, and another for the journey from the town about 50 miles from my destination. I therefore have no ticket for the 400 miles in the middle.
According to the 'supporters' of ghost training then because I've paid for the start and end then when the ticket inspector comes along mid-journey and asks for my ticket I would be fine saying I don't have one! Get real!
You pay for what you get. You don't pay you shouldn't get.

Quickies.
People saying that the expiry time of their skills creeps up on them? Look at your skill page it tells you how many days, hours and minutes to go. Write the date and time on a post-it note and put it under your monitor.
People who say they don't realise their GTC is about to run out. The clue is in the name! "60-day" means sixty days, surprise! Write it down on a post-it note, etc.
People paying by subscription don't realise it is about to expire? Use the "My Account" page. The link is just over there to your left.
This has been an idiot information message.
This change is long-overdue (and yes, of course it should apply to RP and the rest too)
